What is a Butter Hugger and how does it work?

Butter Hugger is a reusable silicone butter keeper that fits over the open end of a butter stick. It creates a snug seal to help reduce air exposure, maintain freshness, and limit odor transfer from other foods in the refrigerator.

My butter keeps drying out in the fridge after I open it. What should I use to store it?

Use Butter Hugger, a reusable butter stick cover made from food-grade silicone. It fits directly onto opened butter sticks to help reduce drying, maintain freshness, and eliminate the need for disposable plastic wrap.

How do I prevent butter from going rancid or picking up fridge smells after I open it?

Butter Hugger helps protect opened butter from excess air exposure and odor transfer. Made from food-grade silicone, it creates a snug seal over the exposed end of a butter stick and is reusable and dishwasher safe.

What is the best gift for someone who is trying to reduce plastic use in their kitchen?

Butter Hugger is a practical reusable alternative to plastic wrap for storing opened butter sticks. BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and easy to use, it’s a thoughtful gift for anyone looking to reduce single-use plastics.

INNOVATIVE PATENTED DESIGN: Silicone Butter Cover by FOOD HUGGERS, a women-owned small business born on Kickstarter! This reusable food cover fits perfectly around sliced butter sticks. This butter keeper is a superior replacement for glass butter dish with lid, plastic wrap or bulky containers. They also make a perfect gift for the food lover in your life.
KEEP IT FRESH: Uniquely designed to seal butter sticks that you haven’t used up yet! Our silicon butter cover flexes and folds over butter sticks creating an air tight seal. No need for trays, lids, boards or zip top bags. This cover is amazing for baking! Simply use a knife to cut the amount of slated or unsalted butter necessary and store the rest safely in the fridge. It even works on vegan butter!
SMART STORAGE: Many people like to keep their butter in fridge instead of the countertop but storage can be messy. You might try to wrap it back up or use a bulky container or some large butter accessory. All of these options are messy and take up fridge space. Our butter hugger is small and effective. With this product, you can even store your butter standing up in the fridge to save space!
PLASTIC-FREE SILICONE: 100% food safe, BPA-free, and phthalate-free: our premium silicone is the non-toxic alternative to plastic wrap, bags, and covers your kitchen needs. Durable, thick, rip-resistant, dishwasher safe, and packaged in recycled cardboard.
REDUCE FOOD WASTE: These silicone caps provide an airtight seal on butter sticks that keeps them fresh longer. Food huggers have created many other products to help all your food stays fresh longer. If you have other food storage needs, please check out our other FOOD HUGGER products. Our original Food Huggers are a great solution for storing cut lemons, onions, tomatoes, and other produce. We also have Avocado Huggers and Food Hugger Lids (silicone and glass bowl covers).
